BigBlueButton frontend infrastructure

Greenlight hosting that can grow beyond one BBB node

Host Greenlight separately from the real-time media server so frontend releases, database work and room traffic have a clean operational boundary.

01

An isolated application layer

A separate Greenlight VPS avoids placing the frontend database and background work on a busy media node. It also creates a clearer path toward Scalelite and multiple BigBlueButton backends.

02

Bring your own identity and domain

Use your hostname, SMTP provider and supported authentication approach. Optional installation covers the initial application deployment; ongoing Greenlight administration remains self-managed.

03

Data stays under your control

The VPS is dedicated to your deployment. You control Greenlight accounts, room metadata, PostgreSQL data and integration secrets through root access.

The operational reality

BigBlueButton capacity depends on how people use media. Hardware specifications help narrow the choice, but your own load test, monitoring and failure plan turn that choice into a production design.

Questions answered

What teams ask before ordering

Does Greenlight include BigBlueButton?+

Greenlight is the web frontend. It still needs one or more BigBlueButton servers connected directly or through Scalelite.

Can Greenlight be added to a BBB server?+

Yes for simpler environments. The isolated plan is intended for teams that want a cleaner boundary or expect to scale to multiple nodes.

Are updates managed?+

No. This is self-managed hosting. Installation and migration can be purchased as scoped one-time work.
